Advising

Weekly Drop-in Career Advising

Drop-in Advising is the best way to get immediate and ongoing feedback on anything career related, especially when the question can’t wait. You can use Drop-in Advising to ask any quick career questions and learn about our services and resources. You will spend 5 to 10 minutes with an advisor, so don’t hesitate to organize your thoughts in advance to make the most of the time! Students will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Please book a regular career services appointment for more complex advising needs (for example, significant edits to resume and cover letter will need a regular appointment).

MA Career Services Appointments

Meet with the in-house Career Services team to discuss career trajectories, resumes, cover letters and the job application process. Make appointments with Shelly Robinson, Lauren Sheely, and Carli Thompson via our career management system, MA Connect.

UChicagoGRAD Appointments

Social Science Division MA students also have access to UChicagoGRAD, centralized graduate student career services.

We recommend making an appointment with the UChicagoGRAD team for fellowship advising, applications to other graduate programs, academic writing support, and other services not provided by your in-house team.
